Local Vietnamese Food at Ben Xua Restaurant in Triem Tay Hoi An

Ben Xua Restaurant in Cam Kim Triem Tay Hoi An, Vietnam is a small restaurant that is definitely worth a try for your family when visiting Hoian. Our family was lucky enough to be invited by an artist friend to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint.

Access To Ben Xua Restaurant Triem Tay Hoi An

The restaurant is located across Cam Kim iron bridge, just a short 400 meters drive to the right and you will see the Quan Ben Xua restaurant. Although it is a bit far from Hoian Center, the experience is truly unique and well worth the trip. It’s quite hard for cars to access as the road is quite small. Normally travelers try this food on their 1-day bike trip to Triem Tay Hoian. However, we don’t think this restaurant is a good idea for a rainy day.

Very Authentic Vietnamese Style With Bamboo Design

The design of the restaurant is simple like the old house in the river. The bulk of the material used to construct the restaurant is bamboo, giving the restaurant a natural feel. One of the highlights of the restaurant is its river view, as you can catch a glimpse of the calm and serene Thu Bon River. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful, with cool breezes that add to the overall experience.

Local Food By Vietnamese Owners Cooked With Fresh Ingredients

The menu offered at Ben Xua Restaurant is Vietnamese local food that is cooked by family chefs with fresh ingredients. The food, ingredient, and the way they cook are exactly like a simple meal from a Vietnamese family. But the flavors can match any taste, even for those who are not familiar with the local cuisine. Our family loved almost all of the dishes we tried, with a special mention for our kid who simply couldn’t get enough of the fried sweet potatoes, which we can’t find the taste in any other place. We also recommended you tried some kind of Vietnamese salad, like Mit Tron (boiled jack fruit salad), spring rolls, ca duoi nuong (grilled stingray fish).

Affordable Price With Many Choices

The menu has very reasonable prices, ranging from 30,000 to 80,000 Vietnamese Dong per meal. We spent around 400,000 VND for both 2 families (4 adults and 2 children), tried about 6 different dishes and we were all very full. Even if you just want to have a normal meal (around 30,000 VND) they do have options like Pho, fried rice with egg, Cao Lau (a Hoian traditional noodle), and so forth.

The owner is also super friendly and even if she couldn’t talk English, you can still easily ask for what you need.

The restaurant is also a frequent haunt of our artist friend, who uses it as a place to draw new art and we can see why!

Destination For Families Looking For An Authentic Vietnamese Dining Experience On Sunny Day

It is a fantastic destination for those looking for an authentic Vietnamese dining experience in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The restaurant is the perfect place to gather with friends and family during the hot summertime. The outdoor seating area provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxed and enjoyable meal, making it a great option for families and friends looking to escape the heat.

Our family had an amazing time and we are already planning our next visit.
